Teen Volunteers
Discovery Creek wants your help! The museum is currently looking for
teen volunteers between the ages of 13-17.
Teen Volunteers Can:
- earn many hours of community service credit in a single day!
- make new friends or volunteer with old ones!
- spend time outdoors!
- become a valuable member of the museum community!
Volunteers can assist in two different program areas:
WEEKEND PROGAMMING (September-April):
Discovery Creek is open most weekends from September - April and seeks
energetic, reliable and outgoing volunteers to assist at our
Schoolhouse
and/or our
Glen Echo Park site.
Weekend volunteers welcome and direct families coming to the museum, work on art projects with children,
help out on hikes, assist with setup and cleanup of the site and, much more!

SUMMER CAMP (June-August):
Help bring the excitement of exploration and outdoor adventure to hundreds of campers in the Museum's Summer Nature Adventure Program!
The Basics:

Discovery Creek Summer Nature Adventure Volunteers are required to
volunteer 2 weeks throughout the summer (they do not have to be consecutive
weeks).
- Volunteer hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm (hours may vary depending on site).

Discovery Creek has camp locations in Maryland, Washington, D.C,
Virginia.
- Summer camps run from June 16 - August 22, 2007.
- Volunteers must be between the ages of 13 - 17.
- Campers range in age from 4 - 12, depending on site.
